There was king and a queen and they were not in love The king had gotten so mean the queen said enough So she fell in love one of her staff He was the castle joker and he made her laugh One day the joker, sat the queen down Said he had a plan to take the King’s crown “I know of a plant with poison in its stem Put some in his tea and he’ll be a has been” The plant looked like an umbrella in the rain Tiny bunches of white flowers made its shape tall as a child it had leaves of green It didn’t look rough but man it was mean So the joker set out for the woods that night And sure enough he saw a plant that looked right An umbrella made of tiny bunches of white flowers He trembled as he picked it, frightened of its powers Then he spotted something that derailed his mission It was another plant that matched his plant’s description The leaves were not the same but he had another thought One plant had a dot; the other did not This dot was purple in the middle of flower The joker went back and forth for an hour He picked the purple dot one cause it was more hairy And he always found: hairy things scary Back at the castle, he gave the Queen the roots The Queen ground them up into a juice She stirred them in the tea that the King would have With his evening meal of meat and yams And so the King drank while the Queen looked on And to her great surprise there was nothing wrong In fact the King’s mood moved from mean to cheer He said he felt better then he had in years Then the king’s body felt a new correction It turned out the plant had helped his digestion So he let out a relieving moan For the plant dissolved his kidney stone From that day forth the King was a new guy Was kind to all especially his wife The Queen fell in love with the King again The Joker and she went back to being friends And you’d think that the joker was mad He was for a bit he soon became glad For he opened a successful stand Where he sold, medicinal plants The King drank the plant in his morning juice The Queen wore the flowers on the laces of her shoes And since “Anne” was the Queen’s namesake Today we call the plant Queen Anne’s Lace

Dandelion 01:30
If you live near some grass You can see sunshine Coming up from the ground Instead of the sky if you come back later In the summertime You might see a moon form Where the sun did shine if you pick that moon form Then blow from your mouth You can watch the stars move Into the skes above All these year’s people been trying To tell me your a weed Now I know they all we’re lying You’re so special to me Your roots run deep and feed my garden Your leaves keep me strong The sun, the moon and stars are shining In one dandelion

Milkweed 04:07
MILKWEED We're strolling down the street and I'm so so tired You say hey peter when will you stop snoring Look around the butterflies are soaring And before I know it One swoops on by Doing loops in the sky I sigh and take a deep deep breathe in through my nose reach up to the clouds and then down to my toes I open my eyes and to my surprise I am just like the milkweed fuzzy as a peach and green I am just like the milkweed butterflies believe Now I'm waiting in the woods With my toes in the ground I drink water through my legs and eat sun through my lips a couple caterpillars live in my armpits And before I know it One makes a cocoon In the shape of a crescent moon You swoon when you come by to see it hatch and say Peter you helped a butterfly on its way it flies to the clouds and we're singing out that I'm just like the milkweed fuzzy as a peach and green yeah I'm just like the milkweed butterflies believe Now the cold's common son and I made a coccoon Only this coccoon is full of little fluffy seeds Each one could become a new Pete Moss milkweed but before I go I want you to know you are just like the milkweed juicy on the inside you are just like the milkweed taking in the sunlight you are just like the milkweed things grow in your armpits you are just like the milkweed here comes a butterfly kiss! you are just like the milkweed fuzzy as a peach and green you are just like the milkweed fuzzy as a peach and green you are just like the milkweed butterflies believe

Jewelweed 02:10
Did you know Should you one day get poison ivy That you can prevent the crying If you use water and soap But what if You are out in the wilderness And the one thing that you forget Is your water and soap you trip down a hill And though it’s a thrill You get the bottom and notice face down in some leaves you get up and see You landed in some poison ivy Who do you call? You might know The sharp teeth of the deer fly Or the pain of fire ant bites So strong for their size Or perhaps You’ve gotten a rash in your armpit That’s sings to you until you scratch it then it gets more red your camping that night And mosquitoes bite you slap your thighs every three seconds in morning you see you have allergies 310 puffy bug bites Who do you see? Jewelweed Jewelweed Jewelweed when nettle strikes or mosquitoes bite may all your skins sad times be soothed Jewelweed Jewelweed when you get a rash or just a scratch may its kisses find your booboos

Red Clover 03:01
There’s a flower that exists Over this wide world Pinkish purple disco ball We call it red clover Some cows like to munch on it All throughout the day Bees with longer noses might Suck its nectar dry As they sip the pollen sticks On to their hairy thighs Some say the V shows the Bee’s Where to find red clover There’s a flower that exists Over this wide world Pinkish purple disco ball We call it red clover Red clover is not just for The bumble bees and cows It can help our lungs and our breathing You can eat it all With each bite your body grows stronger A good source of protein And though it tastes like vanilla lettuce We call it red clover There’s a flower that exists Over this wide world Pinkish purple disco ball We call it red clover
